About the piece

Yorkshire, 1939.

A young couple, Penny and Oscar, buy an old but equally charming picture house which quickly becomes a success.

However war is just around the corner and it is not long before Oscar and the men of the town are called to serve for their country.

Can the picture house, which has become the pride, joy and escape of the community, survive the horrors of war?

This fresh piece of writing from Play Pen Productions introduces the audience to a brand new show which includes an original book and score.

In the year that Britain hosted the Diamond  Jubilee and Olympic games, what better way to get into the British sprit than with a trip to 'The Picture House'!
